hi all, two things: 1. usage limits are back to being double – your feedback worked 2. we today kicked off an intense sprint to dramatically improve the app simplicity and performance. i will oversee this. more to come. now, send me your complaints
We’ve trained Claude to flag potential misuse in conversations, a technique we call self-assessment. Right after it responds, Claude gives a preliminary safety assessment of the conversation. Since we began using self-assessment in June, it has surfaced misuse that our other safeguards weren’t designed to catch. Because Claude has already read the conversation, self-assessment is very efficient. And unlike classifiers, which target a discrete set of harms, it draws on Claude’s own judgment, so it gets more accurate as our models improve. Day 25/ We are doubling all usage limits for all Pro 100/200/500 tiers and Business Premium, effective today. We heard your kind feedback and won’t be reducing usage limits for Pro 200, so your Work and Codex usage will stay the same. We’re also going to continue offering extended limits for dots for now, and usage of your dot will still continue to be separate from your default usage. And we'll of course also keep shipping better models and other efficiency improvements that increase your effective usage over time.

Team is working on this but it's not rolling out just yet, sorry for any confusion. Plan is to bring together best of both Chat / Work capabilities together at some point this year, but we're going to proceed carefully here and take our time. We'll have more to share soon.
Day 24/ Text your dot just like anyone else. Makes it super easy to share/forward things, leave it voice notes or you can even go creative with "Hey Siri, text Iggy to <INSERT WILD REQUEST>" and sit back and relax.
why is Google suddenly dropping models like they invented transformers, own half the internet’s data, and sit on an ocean of TPUs? oh wait…
Announcing Gemini 4 Carbon, our strongest model with state-of-the-art cybersecurity and long horizon capabilities. We’re first making Carbon available to a subset of trusted cyber defenders in our Fairwind program. We’ll expand access as soon as possible.
⚡Iterating at lightning speed! Gemini 4 Carbon is SOTA across key benchmarks and combines frontier capabilities with deep safety & security research.
I'm starting to sense a divide in the tech industry: - People thriving on autonomy who are reinventing how they work and what tools they use with AI: LOTS of work, but they're enjoying it and getting very efficient - People used to being mentored / trained / or simply told what to do and how. Frustrated with the lack of guidance from management on what to do with AI; also frustrated by seeing some of their peers thriving; increasingly bitter about AI and the state of the industry, as a whole Neither group seems to be aware that there's another group, or have empathy for the other group
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the end of UI for SaaS
Q3 is in the books! Our 1P model APIs now process nearly 32B tokens/min (up 40% QoQ). - Strong momentum in model progress with Argon and Carbon leading the frontier, and Genie 4 our most advanced new world model yet. Thanks to our partners and employees around the world. More to share on the call soon!
By popular request, you can now text your dot. Give it a task to take off your plate or something to keep an eye on, using text, photos, or even voice notes. It will text you proactively with relevant updates. Safe, secure texting via iMessage or RCS. You’re the only one who can text your dot, and your dot can only text you. Rolling out now as a preview for Pro users in the US.
MacBook Pro display with touch after 2 days 😭
very weird thing happening rn technical people are sad, they think their skills are now useless non-technical people are desperately wishing they were more technical so they could use agents better
Gemini 4 Carbon is our next frontier model. It’s state-of-the-art across cybersecurity and long-horizon capabilities.
ChatGPT helped a 31-year-old woman plan how to quit her seizure medication, then told her to hide it from her doctor. The plan had her completely off the drug by February 12. She died on February 12. Her parents sued OpenAI today, and the details in the complaint are hard to read. Bowen Wan was a machine learning engineer at Amazon. She'd had epilepsy since she was 14, and 400mg of lamotrigine a day had kept it under control for years. Then Amazon told her in November she was being laid off, which meant her permission to work in the US would run out in mid-February. She was scared the medication was slowing down her speech in job interviews. So in January she asked ChatGPT if she could cut her dose to 300. It told her that was reasonable. Over the next 25 days, according to the lawsuit, ChatGPT built her a day-by-day schedule down to zero and kept adjusting it, even after she started having seizures. When she worried her doctors would call it too risky, it told her their concerns…
